Products and technology
What does "3D printed aftermarket part" mean?
A replacement part reproduced from the geometry of the factory (OEM) component and manufactured with industrial 3D printing. We measure or 3D-scan the original, rebuild it in CAD, then produce it from PA12 nylon using selective laser sintering (SLS). The result is a brand-new, unused part that replaces the original in size and function.
Are these parts genuine?
Our parts are not OEM parts, but premium-quality, precisely engineered aftermarket components — a reliable, long-lasting alternative to discontinued or worn-out originals. Using the OEM reference number you can easily confirm the part is a match for your vehicle.
What technology are the parts made with?
Exclusively industrial SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) on a Formlabs Fuse system. A laser fuses nylon powder layer by layer in a powder bed, producing a dense, nearly isotropic part (almost equal strength in every direction) with an even surface free of layer lines.
What is the difference between SLS and FDM 3D printing?
Both are proven manufacturing methods for different jobs. FDM lays down melted filament layer by layer — fast, flexible and perfectly adequate for many parts. SLS sinters powder with a laser, without support structures: it allows complex, enclosed internal geometries, gives an even matte surface, and the part is nearly equally strong in every direction. We chose SLS because for small-series, often thin-walled and intricately shaped replacement parts it delivers the result closest to the factory component — our entire range is SLS-printed.
What material are the parts made of?
PA12 (polyamide 12, better known as Nylon 12) industrial nylon — the same material family many factory plastic car parts are made of: impact- and wear-resistant, oil- and fuel-resistant, with low moisture absorption and good tolerance of temperature swings.
How durable is PA12 nylon in a car?
Tensile strength around 48–50 MPa with more than 10% elongation at break, so it is not brittle. It melts around ~180 °C, handles 80–100 °C continuously and short peaks above that. More than adequate for interior, trunk, door and dashboard parts; proven in the engine bay away from hot components (heater flap actuators, brackets, clips).
Is the material UV-resistant? Will it fade or turn brittle in the sun?
PA12 has good UV resistance compared to most printed plastics, and the black deep-dyed version gains extra protection because the dye absorbs UV. Exterior parts exposed to direct sun for many years (e.g. open convertible trim) may show slight matte fading over time, but the mechanical properties do not degrade the way 30-year-old original ABS does.
What colour are the parts? Do they look like the originals?
The base colour of Formlabs PA12 powder is grey. Most of our products are deep-dyed black — the dye soaks into the nylon instead of sitting on the surface, so it cannot chip off or scratch away. If a product is named "black" it is deep-dyed; if "grey/natural" or "primed", see the product description. In most cases the parts look identical to the factory originals; some details may be subtly reinforced for durability, always noted in the description.
Can the parts be painted?
Yes. The sintered nylon's slightly porous, matte surface takes primer and paint very well. Recommended process: degrease with isopropyl alcohol, apply a plastic primer suitable for PA12, then the desired top coat — this lets you match factory interior colours (beige, grey, blue, etc.) precisely.
How accurate is the fit?
SLS holds a typical tolerance of ±0.3 mm / ±0.3%. We don't just copy parts — we install and test them in their original location before they enter the range. Based on customer feedback, most products install without tools or with the original fasteners.
Are layer lines visible? What is the surface like?
The SLS surface is uniformly fine, slightly grainy matte — similar to bead-blasted or matte injection-moulded plastic. Layer lines are practically invisible to the naked eye. It is more matte than glossy factory surfaces; our product photos aim to show this faithfully.
Why aren't the parts injection-moulded or "original"?
Because these are small-series parts, often long withdrawn from factory distribution. An injection mould costs tens of thousands of euros, which could never pay off at 10–50 units a year — that is exactly why factory supply ended. With SLS even a single unit is economical to produce, making parts available again that the manufacturer no longer offers.
What does the OEM number in the description mean?
The Original Equipment Manufacturer part number the factory uses for its own component. We list it so you can identify exactly which part ours replaces. Important: our products are not genuine factory parts and are not endorsed or distributed by the vehicle manufacturers; OEM numbers and brand names are used solely to identify compatibility.
Are the parts stronger than the originals?
Often yes, though that is not the main point. The originals are typically 20–40-year-old ABS or PP that has turned brittle by now — clips snap, tabs break off. Fresh PA12 is tougher and not brittle, and we often reinforce the typical failure points in the design without changing the external dimensions. This is always noted in the product description.
How many pieces are in a package?
Stated on every product (e.g. "pair", "4 pieces", "left or right – 1 pc"). "Left/Right" in a product name means a selectable side, not a pair — please choose the correct side before adding to cart.
Fitment, compatibility, left and right side
How do I know a part fits my car?
Every product lists the model, production years, the body code where relevant (e.g. E36, W123, 986) and the OEM part number. The safest check is to compare the number on your old part with the listed OEM number. If unsure, send us your VIN or a photo — we usually reply within one working day and verify compatibility free of charge.
How do I decide which side is left and which is right?
In the automotive world, sides are defined in the direction of travel, sitting in the driver's seat: left is the driver's side on a left-hand-drive car, right is the passenger side. This holds even when you look at the car from the outside, facing it — you then see it mirrored. Explanatory diagrams are shown on the relevant product pages. If you ordered the wrong side, we take the part back — see the Returns section.
Does the part fit right-hand-drive (RHD) cars?
Most interior parts (door pull handles, seat trims) are side-symmetrical, so on an RHD car you order left/right the same way — the driver simply sits on the right. Where the LHD and RHD versions genuinely differ (dashboard elements, heater controls), the product description says so explicitly.
The part lists a year range — what if my car falls outside it?
Manufacturers often changed parts within a model run. If your car sits at the edge of the listed range or was affected by a mid-cycle update, write to us with your VIN — we check the OEM catalogue before you order.
Do I need to modify anything for installation?
No — our parts are designed to install using the original mounting points, clips and screws, without modification. Wherever we deviate from the factory solution (extra wall thickness, different fixing principle), the description and photos point it out.
Are there installation guides?
Several products have write-ups and photo series on our blog, and we keep adding installation videos. A General Use and Installation Guide is also linked on every product page. If you can't find a guide for a specific part, write to us — we'll send tips.
Ordering and payment
How do I order?
Pick the product, choose the variant where needed (side, colour, quantity), add it to the cart, then enter your shipping details and pay at checkout. Registration is not required, though with an account you can track orders and start returns more easily.
What payment methods do you accept?
Bank card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Union Pay), PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and country-specific local methods (Bancontact, MobilePay). Payment runs through Shopify's secure checkout — we never store your card details.
Is cash on delivery or bank transfer available?
Cash on delivery is offered to customers in Hungary only. Bank transfer is possible case by case for higher-value or company orders — write to info@aditeqshop.com.
What currency do I pay in?
Euros within the EU, US dollars for deliveries to the United States. Prices include VAT (at the destination country's rate for EU purchases). Hungarian customers also see euro prices; the card-issuing bank converts to forint. For orders outside the EU, prices exclude VAT.
Do I get a VAT invoice?
Yes — we issue an electronic invoice for every order and send it by email. For company purchases, enter the company name and, with an EU VAT number, the tax number at checkout so the invoice is issued correctly.
Is my item in stock, or made to order?
The vast majority of webshop items are in stock and ship within 1–3 working days. If a product is temporarily unavailable, the page shows a "sold out" status; we usually reprint within 1–2 weeks. Write to us if it's urgent.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Before dispatch, yes — email info@aditeqshop.com immediately with your order number. Once the parcel is handed to the courier we can no longer change it; from then on the returns process applies.
Shipping
Where do you ship?
To all European Union member states and the United States from the webshop. If your country is not listed at checkout (e.g. Switzerland, Norway, United Kingdom), email info@aditeqshop.com — we check the options individually, or we can serve you through our eBay store.
How long until my package arrives?
- Processing and dispatch: 1–3 working days after payment
- Within the EU: 3–7 working days from dispatch
- United States: 7–15 working days from dispatch, depending on customs
These are estimates; we cannot take responsibility for courier or customs delays, but we always help with tracking.
How long does delivery to Hungary take?
We ship from Budakeszi, so domestic delivery is typically 1–3 working days.
Which courier do you use?
FedEx, GLS or MPL, depending on the destination and parcel size. The available methods and rates are shown at checkout before you finalize the order.
How much is shipping?
Calculated from the destination and the parcel's size/weight; the amount is shown at checkout before payment. Above certain order values or during promotions we may offer free shipping.
Do I get a tracking number?
Yes — we email the tracking link at dispatch. Activation in the courier's system can take 24–48 hours.
Do I have to pay customs duties?
Within the EU, no — the price includes VAT and there are no further costs. For deliveries to the United States, customs duty, import tax or a handling fee may arise in the destination country; these are payable by the customer and are not part of the product or shipping price. Please check your country's import regulations before ordering.
What happens if the package arrives damaged or gets lost?
Write to info@aditeqshop.com within 7 days of the expected delivery date, ideally with photos of the packaging and the damage. We open a claim with the courier and arrange a replacement or a refund.
How are the parts packaged?
Each piece is packed individually with fitted cushioning so it cannot get damaged in transit.
I entered a wrong address — what should I do?
Email us immediately with your order number. Before dispatch we correct it free of charge; if the parcel is already on its way, we request an address change with the courier where possible. Re-sending a parcel returned because of an incorrect address is chargeable.
Returns, withdrawal, warranty
Can I return a product if I change my mind?
Yes. Under EU consumer protection rules you may withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason within 14 days of receipt. Return the part unopened or in its original, undamaged condition (no signs of installation); in this case we cover the return shipping. Start the return from your account or by email.
I ordered the wrong side or variant — can I exchange it?
Yes. Let us know by email, return the unopened part, and we ship the correct variant as soon as it arrives back.
The part doesn't fit — what should I do?
First write to us with photos of the car and the original part — most "doesn't fit" cases turn out to be a side or variant mix-up and are cleared up quickly. If there is a genuine fitment fault, we replace the part or refund the full price, covering the return shipping as well.
What warranty do the parts have?
For consumer purchases, 2 years under EU rules, covering material and manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect installation, subsequent modification (drilling, sanding) or normal wear.
The part broke during installation — what happens now?
Send us a photo. If the break points to a design or manufacturing fault, we replace it free of charge. If it was an installation error (over-torqued screw, hammering the part in), we offer a discounted replacement — and review together how to make the installation safer.
How do I get my refund?
Within 14 days of receiving and checking the returned item, to the original payment method.
Custom manufacturing and partner programme
I have a part that's not in your range — can you make it?
Yes, that is our core business. Send a photo and a short description to info@aditeqshop.com (vehicle model, the part's function, OEM number if known). If the part can be reproduced, we ask for a sample (a broken one is fine as long as all pieces are there), 3D-scan it, rebuild it in CAD, manufacture it and return your original together with the copy.
How much does a custom reproduction cost?
Two components: a one-off design fee (scanning + CAD modelling, depending on the part's complexity) and a unit price. We often waive or credit the design fee if the part is something others are likely to need and we can add it to our range. You receive a quote within 1–2 working days.
How long does a custom part take?
Typically 2–4 weeks from receiving the sample, depending on the part's complexity and the current production queue.
Can you manufacture in metal or rubber?
We currently manufacture in PA12 nylon. For metal or elastomer parts we can design the geometry and recommend a partner manufacturer, but we do not produce them in-house.
Do you only make car parts?
No — plastic spares for motorcycles, vintage household appliances, instruments or any device are possible, as long as the geometry can be reconstructed and PA12 suits the application.
I run a workshop or restoration business — is there trade pricing?
Yes. Workshops, restorers, clubs and specialist dealers receive volume discounts, and regular customers get individual price lists. Write to us with your company details and the models you work on — our range often grows from workshop samples.
Can I get a free piece in exchange for my broken original?
If you send a sample of a part not yet in our range and we can add it, you receive a free piece of the finished reproduction.
